Description
Traditional Guanciale.
This incredibly delicious cured meat is made from pork cheek and coated in a blend of black pepper, herbs, and spices giving a distinctly deep flavour.
Of course, it is perfect for traditional pasta dishes such as carbonara and amatriciana but we've been loving it thinly sliced, fried, and added to a sandwich layered with fresh tomatoes and lettuce, to make the ultimate BLT (or I suppose GLT...). It just has an extra punch of umami that you don't get with bacon or pancetta.
So many of our customers have asked for Guanciale recently due to its increased presence on social media and in cookbooks, so we have worked hard to source this beautiful example directly from a producer in Calabria.
