Rutland Red
Rutland Red is a pasteurised, buttered, cloth-bound Red Leicester cheese, matured for 6 months to develop a flaky texture and a sweet, slightly nutty, caramelised flavour. It is the only pasteurised Red Leicester cheese produced in Leicestershire, England, and is known for its vibrant golden-orange colour, which comes from the natural colouring agent, annatto.
