Harissa Paste 70g

Harissa paste is a vibrant and aromatic chili paste, a cornerstone of North African and Middle Eastern cuisine, particularly from Tunisia, Morocco, and Algeria. At its core, it's made from a blend of red chili peppers (which can be fresh, roasted, or rehydrated dried chilies, contributing to varying heat levels and flavour nuances), garlic, olive oil, and a distinctive mix of spices, commonly including caraway, coriander, and cumin.

The resulting paste offers a complex flavour profile that can range from fiery to moderately spicy, often with smoky, earthy, and sometimes subtly sweet notes, along with an underlying tang from lemon juice or vinegar. 

Its texture can vary from a smooth, uniform paste to one with a slightly coarser consistency, depending on the grinding method. Harissa is incredibly versatile, used as a condiment, a marinade for meats and vegetables, stirred into stews, soups, and couscous, or mixed into dips and dressings, adding a robust kick and depth of flavour to a wide range of dishes.
