Caws Cenarth Smoked Caerffili is a distinctive Welsh cheese from the longest established farmhouse producer of Caerffili, Caws Cenarth, located in the lush Cych valley. This pasteurised cow's milk cheese starts with their traditional Caerffili, known for its light, crumbly, yet creamy texture and a fresh, subtly tangy, often lemony flavor. The cheese is then lightly smoked on the farm using oak chips from local woodlands, imparting a wonderful, earthy smoky dimension that beautifully complements the cheese's inherent clean freshness without overpowering it. Handmade with hand-cut curds for its signature loose, velvety texture and made with vegetarian rennet, it's a versatile cheese perfect for a cheeseboard, crumbled into mashed potatoes or cauliflower cheese, or as a smoky addition to dishes like chicken and bacon pasta or even Mexican cuisine.
